Our mission statement aptly describes who we are: “The Catholic Women’s League is a national organization rooted in Gospel values calling its members to holiness through service to the people of God.” We fulfill this calling by using our God-given talents and gifts, which God asks us to share for the benefit of His people. We put these talents to use in the community, through activities and events that help make a difference to those in need.
Canada’s largest national organization of Catholic Women represents almost 90,000 women. Our Council at St. John’s may be a small council, but we are a group of Catholic Women linked through our common faith, who come together to participate in faith-based activities and social interaction. CWL sisters will welcome you warmly to our council, they will pray with you and join you in the journey to faith as you deepen your relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
We meet once a month from September to June. We will send out emails to remind you of the meetings and the events scheduled throughout the year. You will have many opportunities for involvement, social events, outreach, and more.
We encourage you to attend the monthly meeting as this is your best way to stay informed, get involved and participate fully. Part of the benefits of membership is getting to know your fellow parishioners and sisters in the League, as well as develop new friendships and enjoy the fellowship that comes from being a member.
Your sisters in the League are wonderful, warm, caring, diverse, hard-working and fun women and we are blessed that you are considering joining us.
